Next Wednesday August 29th, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm, St. Columba’s School will be showcasing their amazing Arts Festival.
Your children have worked hard and are excited to show you what they can do!
Grab a bite to eat…
Our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee will be selling soup and hot food to keep us all warm as we enjoy the amazing efforts of the children. They have also organised a coffee van.
We have a variety of Community artists who will be displaying their works and a parent of a couple of our past pupils, Cliff Adeney, will create a watercolour painting throughout the evening. Have a look at this accomplished artist at work! He will also have some of his amazing paintings on display. Check out other surprises in the Iona wing. You may even see art by some of the teachers. We can definitely accommodate more exhibits so we would welcome other school-connected artists to inspire and show our students what can be achieved. Please contact Clare Fuller email@example.com if you would like to be involved in this way.
You won’t want to miss it!
At the Arts Festival there will be three mini concerts presented in the hall. These will be made up of a mixture of Learning Community items and repeats of Grade 5/6 Talent Show items (held during lunchtimes earlier in the term). Children's participation in items is not compulsory but encouraged. Parents/guardians have been sent permission notes via PAM so that we know who will participate. Rehearsals will be run throughout the day on Tuesday, 28th August. Please note that the Grade 5/6 Community item is not a choir performance, rather a percussion ensemble. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. The Choir will open the Arts Festival at 5pm.
A timetable of hall items will be posted by Friday, so families can plan which of the concerts they may wish to attend. Each mini-concert will run for approximately 30 - 40 minutes. We encourage audiences to stay until the end of each concert to ease congestion.
Children performing will need to be seated in the hall at least five minutes before the start of their session. As this is an informal occasion children can wear casual clothes.
The children are looking forward to showing their talents. We hope to see you there.
