- Lunch Box Tips
A reminder to families that starting next term any lunch wrappers brought to school will be sent home in children’s lunch boxes. The reason for this is to encourage people not to send wrappers to school in the first place. We have heard some people ask, “but what’s the point of that? If we take the wrapper off at home it just ends up in the bin anyway.” So we will be adding some lunch box tips to this section of our newsletter to help give some ideas!
Also we still have a few copies left of our recipe book from last year, “The Healthy Lunchbox”, if you missed out. If you would like a copy, please contact me (Kelly). They are $10 each.
Lunchbox tip #1 Buy in Bulk
Buy in bulk and sort food into containers! It will save you money as well as saving the environment.
- Big tubs of yogurt (you can buy buckets!) scooped into containers.
- Boxes of biscuits, crackers, chips etc rather than a bag full of small bags.
