Term One Week Six
Sayounara
I will be sad to say “Sayounara” to the students, staff and wonderful St Columba’s community as I begin my maternity leave at the end of next week. It has been an inspiring journey sharing my love of Japanese language and culture with the St Columba’s community since 2016 and witnessing students grow in confidence and celebrate the special moments when they reach a personal goal or use Japanese in a new context.
I’m excited to introduce Simone Bawden as the new Japanese teacher and have full confidence that the Japanese program is in excellent hands! Simone sensei and I have worked together for a number of years as active members of the Ballarat Japanese Teachers Network and I have seen firsthand her passion, innovative ideas and love of teaching Japanese. Simone will teach Japanese on Wednesday and Thursday beginning on the 20th of March. I’m sure the St Columba’s community will make her feel very welcome!
I look forward to introducing my akachan (baby) later in the year and will continue to keep in touch. Until then…. “Jaa matta ne!”
