Arts Festival 2018
In Week 7 of this term, on Wednesday August 29th, between 5:00pm and 7:30pm, St. Columba’s School will be showcasing their amazing Arts Festival.
It’s been three years since our last Arts Expo so we are all very excited to show our amazing talent in this vital curriculum area. Your children will have the opportunity to display and celebrate with family, friends and the wider school community, aspects of their learning in the areas of Visual and Performing Arts. You will also see how The Arts have been utilised and integrated throughout the everyday learning experiences in all classrooms.
The children are extremely proud of what they can achieve when they apply skill, talent and persistence. They have been able to prove to themselves that everyone can be successful and can continue to develop new skills and improve.
Our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee will be selling soup and hot food to keep us all warm as we enjoy the amazing efforts of the children.
Calling All Community Artists
We would like to invite artists and/or craftspeople from (or connected to) our St. Columba’s School Community to share their talents and interests in a very concrete way at our Arts Festival. Please contact Clare Fuller cfuller@scballarat.catholic.edu.au if you would like to display some of your art work or can perhaps suggest a candidate. Taking advantage of this opportunity will be a fantastic way to show our students where their talents could take them into the future, providing life balance, enjoyment and much more. Display spaces will be made available for items such as; pottery, quilting, photography, painting, knitting, drawing.

Performances
Students from 5/6 have been working hard on Performing Arts items for the Arts Festival (participation is not compulsory). This week they have been demonstrating their productions to student audiences during break times and the standard is very impressive! Each Learning Community will show-case a performance piece they’ve been working on in their Performing Arts classes and the choir will also perform.
Keep an eye out for more details and updates.
