Learning about 3D Shapes
In Maths we have been learning about 3D shapes. We have been making 3D Shapes out of matchsticks and bluetac and cutting out 3D shape templates.
We have also been learning about the features of 3D shapes, including faces, edges and vertices.
Diary of a Wombat
On Friday 4th August, the Prep Community and the 1/2 Community will be attending Her Majesty’s Theatre at 10.30am to watch a production of Diary of a Wombat. With concert just around the corner it is an ideal time for the students to visit Her Majesty’s to become familiar with the theatre. The students will be catching a bus and will leave at approximately 10am. We will return to school for lunch.
Reminders: LG12 are very excited about leading the assembly this Friday at 2:30 in the hall.

The Power of Yet!
Following on from all the children receiving their ‘YET’ armbands last term, the 1/2 Learning Community have had ‘recognise the power of yet’ as a learning intention. It has been great to hear the children use positive mindset language when talking about their learning. In the coming weeks you will see this poster in each classroom.
Isabella: “In investigations I was trying to make my footy oval. It kept collapsing and I couldn’t work out a strategy to fix it. Then I used the power of yet and I kept on trying and trying and it finally turned into what I planned.”
