- 1/2 Learning Community
The 1/2 Community had the pleasure of listening to Mrs Butler talk all about the second part of her travels. The student’s enjoyed listening about the history of St Columba and where he came from.
I learnt that there was a big great war and Columba left Iona. I think at the age of 18 he built his first shack. - Billy
Mrs Butler showed us where Columba was born and where he died. – Manning
She showed us lots of crosses and lots of special symbols like the dove. - Piper
There was a big war and lots of people's houses got burnt down. St. Columba felt bad so he started to help people after that. - Lila
Some Colour Run writing...
- I got sprayed in blue and red and white and green and orange and yellow. I went with Liam and my mum and dad and it was fun! - Aiden
- Yesterday I went to the Colour Run. Marley ran the 5km and I ran the 2km. I ran with Gracie and she stopped 5 times. Erica squirted me in the mouth. It tastes disgusting. The sky was rainbow. I loved it. Then we finished and Gracie’s mum brought me a rainbow. - Lily C
- When the race was about to start, we saw our friends and we all walked together. When we got to the corner the teachers sprayed us. I was covered. - Alyssa
- On Sunday St. Columba’s had a St. Columba’s Colour Run because Mrs. Butler went to two very poor countries. And every spring they cover themselves with lots of coloured powder. - Gracie
I did the acknowledgment to country and then I did a little speech for Sho. I told everyone that I am a proud Mutti Mutti Nukunu girl. Then we did the Spirit dance, then berry picking, then the crow dance spoken in Wathaurong. The last dance was the show off dance. - Evie
Every week for SMART Spelling, the 1/2 Community have a new spelling focus. 2 weeks ago our spelling focus was ‘air’ as in hair. As a way to celebrate our learning the students enjoyed creating crazy hair for the day.
