5/6 Camp
Last week the 5/6 students travelled to Dunkeld to attend a 3 day camp at Grampians Retreat. The children participated in a range of outdoor activities including water watch, hiking, archery, rope courses, and the giant swing. Many of the activities relied on working as a team to complete. The activities challenged the students and were designed to build their resilience. Thank you to the staff who attended for the wonderful job they did supervising the children while on camp.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/Teacher Interviews were held yesterday and today. If you were unable to attend these interviews for any reason, please make contact with your child’s class teacher to make an alternative time to meet.
Road Works on Gregory Street
I have spoken this morning with the Project Manager of the company completing the Road works on Gregory Street for an update. We had been informed that Gregory Street would be closed to traffic last week while work was completed on the speed hump. These works still have not commenced, though I am assured that they will start very soon. The works will take approximately 2 weeks to complete. Therefore, the Gregory Street gate will remain closed until school resumes at the start of term 2. Thank you for your patience with this.
A reminder to please be very careful when picking up or dropping off children at the Howard Street entrance. With the increased traffic flow, we need to make sure that the children are safe when arriving or departing from school.
Blake Dridan Fundraiser
Next Friday 31st March, a fundraiser (‘Brighten Blake’s Day’) will be held at school to raise much needed funds to assist with medical expenses for Blake.
On ‘Brighten Blake’s Day’ children are asked to come to school dressed in bright coloured clothes to let Blake know that we send him our prayers, good thoughts and love. The children will also be able to order a cupcake. The cost will be $5 for a cupcake and casual clothes or a gold coin donation for casual clothes only. Please order via the Care Monkey app which will be emailed today.
Please see below flyer for a community fundraiser for Blake. This is being run by the North Ballarat Sports Club where Michelle (Blake's mum) works.

Volunteering
Thank you to the many parents who have completed the Expression of Interest form for volunteers and the online training module. There are a number of parents waiting for the link for the training module. This will be emailed through to you in the next day or so.
I encourage all parents who plan on volunteering in any capacity at St Columba's now or in the future to complete the Expression of Interest form. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete. Please click here for the form.
PLC Progress Report
This Friday Colin Sloper, from Hawker Brownlow Professional Learning, will spend the day meeting with staff. We have asked Colin to complete a Progress Report for us regarding the implementation of PLC (Professional Learning Communities) – what’s working well and where we need to continue to put our energies in the future. This will assist the PLC Leading Team to set future direction for the school.
Congratulations to Shaun Mohr
Shaun has been awarded the Australian Council for Education Leaders (ACEL) Victorian Prize for the ‘Highest Achieving Graduating Student in the Masters of Educational Leadership’.
This is a huge achievement and we offer Shaun sincere congratulations.
