Congratulations to Emily and Tim on the birth of their second daughter Lizzie Jane, born last Thursday 2nd November. Both Emily and Lizzie are doing well.
As of 2018 we will move to 14 Learning Groups across four Learning Communities;
Foundation Learning Community - LG 14 & LG 13
1/2 Learning Community - LG 12, LG 11, LG 10, LG 9
3/4 Learning Community - LG 8, LG 7, LG 6, LG 5
5/6 Learning Community - LG 4, LG 3, LG 2, LG 1
I am also pleased to advise that teaching staffing has been finalised for next year. Please see below:-
With the 1/2 Learning Community moving into the Mercy Wing, we now have 4 empty rooms in the Iona Wing. After being so short of space for so long, it is wonderful to have extra space available. These rooms will be used for a variety of purposes; library, visual arts, performing arts/music, Japanese, intervention programs and Wellbeing/Christian Meditation.
Tomorrow (Thursday 9th) removalists will spend the day relocating the library from it’s current location in the staff planning room into what was the old LG 10 classroom. As it will take us a week to re-shelve all the books, the library will be closed to students until Monday 20th November.
Foundation Transition Program
Over the last few weeks we have welcomed our new Preps (Foundation students) for 2018 on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. It is wonderful to see their excited faces and they spend some time familiarising themselves with school.
Next Tuesday evening, 14th November, at 7.00 we will be holding an information session for all parents of children starting school next year in the school hall.
A reminder that next Monday 13th November is a Report Writing day for teaching staff. Students will not be required at school.
P&F and School Advisory Council AGM & Nominations for SAC
The Annual General Meeting of the School Advisory Council (SAC) and the Parents & Friends Committee (P&F) will be held on Wednesday 29th November at 7pm in the school hall. All parents and friends are welcome to attend.
At this meeting we will be farewelling a number of members of both committees who are retiring from their positions.
Janet Smith will be retiring as P&F President
David Bourke will be retiring as Chairperson of the SAC and Wendy Chennell will also be retiring from the SAC.
We are seeking nominations from parents interested in joining the School Advisory Council. If you are interested in finding out more about the SAC or interested in nominating, please send an email to Kim (email@example.com) or Shaun (firstname.lastname@example.org).
