Welcome to our last newsletter for the year.
What a busy year we’ve had. I would like to thank all members of our school community who work so hard to make our school such a wonderful place to grow, learn and work.
To our students who not only apply themselves with so much dedication to their own learning, but always encourage others to do and be their best and who genuinely care for each other.
To our parents (and grandparents) who are always so willing to lend a hand, I say a very big thank-you! Whether you help out in the classrooms or in the uniform shop, assist on excursions, cover a book, cook a meal, coach a sporting team, and even find time to hear reading each night, your contribution to our school makes all the difference.
Finally, to our staff I would like to express my thanks and gratitude. The staff at St Columba’s give of themselves every day and never stop. They are such a hard working group of people that always have the best interests of the students at the forefront. When I see the efforts that these people go to making learning achievable for every person in our school, I am reminded of why we call ourselves a Catholic school. So to those who work in the classrooms, in the office, in the yard and all around, I say a very big thank-you!
I wish you and your families a very Happy and Holy Christmas. I will certainly miss you all next year as I venture to India and Timor Leste, but hope to be able to keep in touch.
I know that the school is in great hands with Shaun and Julie at the helm.
When the Christ child was born and placed in a crib he was a source of wonderment and awe for anyone who saw him. May that same sense of wonderment be yours at this very special time of year when you look upon your own children who, like you and me, have been made in the image and likeness of a loving God.
Thank you to all families that have supported this fundraiser. Meal vouchers are available from the office until 12 noon Friday 22nd December.
