A little bit of information from Andrew Chinn….

Butterfly Music is the music of Andrew Chinn and friends. Since 2000 Andrew has been recording Christian music for children (and some for adults too) for use in Religious Education and liturgy.  Andrew has an extensive background in Catholic education having taught in Catholic primary (elementary) schools in Sydney for twenty years. He has a Bachelor of Education, a Graduate Diploma in Religious Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership.
The mission of Butterfly Music and Andrew Chinn is to provide quality resources to enhance the teaching of Religious Education with a particular emphasis on the Catholic faith, and to create and perform music to enhance the celebration of liturgies in school and parish settings.  Andrew tours extensively around Australia, New Zealand and North America, visiting schools and parishes, sharing his faith through music.
Since 2000, I've had the opportunity to visit over 1000 Catholic Schools around Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada and the Cook Islands. I look forward to visiting many more in years to come, sharing my music in concerts and workshops with children, teachers and parents. What is "Butterfly Music"? Well simply Butterfly Music is music of faith and fun for children. As Christians, the butterfly offers that powerful image of new life. As teachers we often use the caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly to teach that concept. Jesus was placed in a tomb that could not hold him and he emerged to the brightest of new lives, just as the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis. The butterfly also became an important symbol to us as a family when our daughter Belinda was ill with cancer and in the months and years after her death. So when it came time to choose a name for our business, my wife, Bernadette suggested "Butterfly Music". So there's the story behind Butterfly Music!
