We have been making children aware of their right to feel safe and have been unpacking our Feeling Safe policy. The policy unpacks the following:

- How do I know if something is wrong?

DNA - REMINDER FAMILY GROUP ACTIVITY
You may have heard your children talking about their DNA! In this case DNA stands for Dreams, Needs and Attributes.
Over the next two weeks we will be spending time reflecting on our DNA. On Friday 7th of June, during our Family Group activity on St Columba’s Feast Day, children will have time to bring this activity together and create a DNA profile that will be displayed in each Learning Community.
At St Columba’s we want all children to feel heard, cared for, safe and valued as members of our school community.
Families are asked to think of one word that best sums up /describes each of their children e.g. fun loving, curious, kind, caring etc and record it in children’s diaries. Children are asked to bring along a favourite photo for their DNA display.

St Columba’s MEAL TRAIN
The St Columba’s Meal Train provides meals and other support to families within our school community who may be experiencing challenging times such as an illness, surgery, or a death in the family. It is a way of building a sense of community and supporting one another when times are tough. The recipients of the Meal Train are kept confidential.
If you are interested your name goes into a database which activates a call out via email for support( when a need arises and you indicate if you are able to offer support (e.g. meal, lunch box snacks etc) on given days/dates. You will be advised of any dietary requirements and the number of family members. Your contribution is left in the Iona Wing kitchen and delivered on your behalf.
Should you have any further questions please contact Julie Cooper at school or via email jcooper@scballarat.catholic.edu.au
